DROP-IN MEDITATION
421 East 6th Street | New York, NY 10009 The Brant Foundation welcomes you to join us for drop-in meditation at our East Village location, led by spiritual and meditation teacher Gemma Gambee Lewis. Gemma is a seasoned teacher whose career across creative fields has been rooted in and informed by her twenty years of meditation practice. Enjoy this opportunity to connect with and nurture your spiritual center and find calmness among the extraordinary works of contemporary art that comprise our current show, Third Dimension: Works from The Brant Foundation. Participants are welcome to view the exhibition beginning at 5pm, and set up before the session begins at 5:30pm. NEXT SESSION: MARCH 11, 2020 Adults | $15.00 Students with valid ID | FREESKETCH NIGHT – DIRECT SCULPTURE DRAWING
421 East 6th Street | New York, NY 10009 Join us for this uninstructed Sketch Night at The Brant Foundation’s East Village location, featuring David Altmejd’s “The Island.” Altmejd’s larger-than-life sculpture is an amalgamation of mediums and objects that resemble a human figure. A student of biology, Altmejd’s figure has humanoid qualities as well as architectural and landscape elements. The ‘body’ is a dynamic figure with exposed elements which allow participants to stretch their creative faculties beyond what is typical of figure or sculpture drawing. Altmejd’s sculpture presents a unique and exciting challenge, and we encourage participants of all levels to join this sketch night. 6:00 – 7:30pm Adults | $15.00 Students with valid ID | FREESKETCH NIGHT – FIGURE DRAWING
421 East 6th Street | New York, NY 10009 This uninstructed workshop will give participants the opportunity to sketch a professional nude model while also enjoying access to our current exhibition, Third Dimension: Works from The Brant Foundation. Situated among works from our show, participants of all skill levels are welcome to draw inspiration from these landmark works of contemporary art while channeling their creativity toward their own sketches. 5:30 – 7:00pm Adults | $25.00 Students with valid ID | FREEContact |
